1. How do I  get access to the dataset?

This platform provides data availabilty information only. APHRC does not provide access to data, and each dataset has its own data access policies and procedures. To learn more about how to access the data from each dataset, click ‘Data access’ tab on each mental health research or porject page.

2. What types of datasets are included in this platform?

We included 100 examplar MH research that have collected mental health data about major MH conditions in Africa: depression, anxeity, psychosis, PTSD, schezopherenia. The study design include crossectional, repeated crossectional, longitudinal panel (e.g HDSS data), cohort (prospective and retrospective), case control , randomized controlled trial, quasi experimental and qualitative studies. The target population may include but not limited to household, community , adolescents or youths, children, pregnant woment and registries of routinely collected data in different contexts.  We have also compiled lists of project, studies or datasets that focus on digital mental health and genome/genetic studies. This platform contain data from Africa continent only.  The focus of datasets may be any research that follow the same group of individuals over time, or different group of individual with repeated cross-sectional measures.

Studies that have collected information about substance uses or other forms of MH conditions were excluded.
