Study Methodology & Sample
The Kaya HDSS was established as a platform for evaluating health interventions in the health district of Kaya, located in the North Central region of Burkina Faso. The survey covers the town of Kaya and 18 villages in the Kaya health district, with the sites being 70% urban and 30% rural. The initial census was conducted from July to September 2007, covering 48,131 individuals living in 7,682 households. Updates are performed every 6 months.
